Characterising Neighbourhoods
Neighbourhood access to community resources, such as services and amenities, differs from location to location and has an impact on the opportunities available to residents. In the Public Housing and Urban Regeneration programme’s seven case study sites, this project, undertaken in partnership with Te Hotonga Hapori, will determine the locational access tenants have to a range of community resources. Te Hotonga Hapori is a research programme based at AUT with a focus on large public housing urban redevelopments. This collaborative will be achieved by constructing an aggregate index of access to amenities and services across recreational, health, transport, cultural, educational, and financial domains. The index, in combination with the programme’s Your Wellbeing at Home Survey, will investigate the impacts of access to community resources on wellbeing, including concepts of Māori wellbeing.
